NAVAJO NATION, NEW MEXICO

SCENARIO

The Navajo Engineering and Construction Authority set out to find a technology on the market that could identify the location of pressure losses that would be both within budget and operationally efficient.

Comparing similar online leak detection tools on the market, NECA ultimately chose the Nautilus System, as it outperformed the competition in terms of both price and effectiveness.

RESULTS

After having successfully navigated the nearly 26 kilometers of pipe, the final report showed the location of different anomalies. Nautilus’ online leak detection tool identified 4 leak location points along this remote network. In the delivered report, each leak location is provided as a distance between two known assets. Also included was a priority level based on various factors and intended to help prioritize which leaks should be mitigated first. NECA took the reported findings and successfully excavated, located, and repaired the identified points of water loss from the 4 leaks spotted by Nautilus.
